Prayer

Season 2, Episode 3
Series: Starting The Year Well
Episode: Prayer

When it comes to personal prayer time, many of us feel like it's something we don't do enough of. In this podcast, Rachel and Marianne share how they pray and encourage us to consider our own prayer life and how our fresh start in the gospel should motivate us to spend time in prayer.

Host: Gillian
Contributors: Rachel and Marianne

Shownotes:

Rachel and Marianne referred to several Bible verses that encourage them to be faithful and bold in prayer:

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances.

Romans 12:12 Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer.

Hebrews 10:19-22 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus— he has inaugurated for us a new and living way through the curtain (that is, through his flesh)— and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your cares on him, because he cares about you.

John 16:23  On that day you will not ask me anything. Truly I tell you, anything you ask the Father in my name, he will give you.

Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.

Matthew 6:11 Give us today our daily bread

Luke 12:7  Indeed, the hairs of your head are all counted. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head—Christ.
